Crane’s Mill Trip Opportunity – “An American in Paris on Broadway”

You can join the Crane’s Mill residents and Mill Club members on this exciting day trip to Broadway!

Enjoy a delicious lunch at Italian restaurant ViceVersa in Manhattan followed by a matinee show of the smash hit musical, “An American in Paris” on Broadway.

Trip Highlights:

ViceVersa Restaurant: Since the establishment of ViceVersa in 1999, owner and chef Franco Lazzari and Stefano Terzi have distinguished themselves for their continued use of only the highest quality ingredients. In the comfort of the ViceVersa’s kitchen, Stefano makes all pastas from scratch. His cooking respects the characteristics of each ingredient and values their qualities in each recipe—a true embodiment of the philosophy of Italian Cuisine. New York magazine called ViceVersa “one of the most congenial and gratifying restaurants in the theater district.”

Menu: You may choose upon arrival. You will have a choice of soup or salad and there will be three entrée choices. Homemade dessert and coffee or tea is included.

“An American in Paris”: This Broadway masterpiece is the most award-winning musical of the season. The Academy Award-winning classic film is born anew with movement and music in the rhapsodic new stage adaptation. The romantic story of a young American soldier, a beautiful French girl, and an indomitable European city are at the heart of Broadway’s breathtakingly beautiful new musical.

Tony-award winner Christopher Wheeldon directs and choreographs a remarkable company of twenty-five international Broadway virtuosos as they bring the magic and romance of Paris into perfect harmony with orchestrations of unforgettable works by George and Ira Gershwin, including the classics, “I’ll Build a Stairway to Paradise”, “I Got Rhythm” and “The Man I Love”. Get swept up in this stunning production playing at the Palace Theatre.  Anyone who appreciates the wonder of musical theater will not want to miss this!

Back-to-Back Excitement for Patrons of the Arts at Crane’s Mill

Our February 2015 Millstream Activities Calendar is packed with fun! This month’s calendar includes a multitude of live stage shows, both on campus and off!

Many Crane's Mill residents are patrons of the arts

If you’re a Crane’s Mill resident, and you’re a fan of the arts, including live theater and music, then you’re in luck. Each month, our Activities Director works hard to both bring live entertainment to Crane’s Mill, and plan off-campus trips to local performances.

Take today and tomorrow for example:

This afternoon, our residents will enjoy “In the Car with Blossom and Len” at the Centenary Stage in Hackettstown, NJ.

Tomorrow, two programs are on the agenda: first, a trip to the JCC to see the West Orange High School Jubilee Choir. Then, after a five-course dinner in the Candleberry, residents can walk right across Towne Square to take in The Spirit of Jewish Musical Vaudeville in Hinman Hall.

Talk about variety, convenience, and entertainment! That’s just a small glimpse into what’s offered here at Crane’s Mill each month. To see for yourself, visit our Millstream page to check out all of the month’s activities, and be sure to check back as we are always updating our calendars!
