Have you seen the December Millstream calendar yet?
The month kicked off with a trip to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum to view their Gingerbread Wonderland Display, our annual horse & carriage event featuring breakfast with Santa, and the long-running tradition of the Crane’s Mill resident chorus concert and tree lighting.
Last week, residents went out to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and stayed home (in Hinmnan Hall) for performances by Women’s Song Choral, Reeds, Rhythm & All That Brass, The Belle Tones, and Vocalist Karl Marmo.
This afternoon, residents will enjoy a holiday social, and tomorrow’s white elephant party and Karickter Duet performances should be a lot of fun.
Want to see the whole calendar? Visit our Millstream page by clicking here, and you’ll see all the activities and outings for yourself.
When you walk around Crane’s Mill, you’ll see residents in independent living ranging from their 60’s to over 100 years of age!
It’s really quite amazing to speak with people about aging, and how staying young at heart can be just as important as diet and exercise when it comes to “staying young.”
With that in mind, here are six quotes we found to be thought-provoking—we hope you enjoy!
“Today is the oldest you’ve ever been, and the youngest you’ll ever be again.” Eleanor Roosevelt
“Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.” Walt Disney
“Too many people, when they get old, think that they have to live by the calendar.” John Glenn
“Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” Betty Friedan
“It’s paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn’t appeal to anyone.” Andy Rooney
“Grow old with me! The best is yet to be.” Robert Browning
What do you have to say about aging? Let us know by sending an email, and we just might feature your quote in a future blog post!
