Our residents are ringing in the 2018 in style. First, there’s a special New Year’s Cocktail Party in Towne Square. It’s an annual tradition, complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and a raw bar with ice sculpture.
Then, dinner is served in the Candleberry Dining Room and Heartwood Cafe, where residents are welcome to bring the wine or spirit of their choice.
Finally, the night really takes off with a performance from the Dean Tomanelli Jazz Trio. Mr. Tomanelli has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Rainbow Room, The Plaza Hotel, The Waldorf Astoria, and many other famed venues. Tonight, he brings his talents back to Hinman Hall to show our residents the range of his repertoire (and maybe take some requests, too!).
We hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and more importantly, a happy, healthy, and fun year to come.
Have you seen the December Millstream calendar yet?
This month is filled with all sorts of activities aimed at entertaining, educating, and engaging our residents.
The month kicked off with a trip to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum to view their Gingerbread Wonderland Display, our annual horse & carriage event featuring breakfast with Santa, and the long-running tradition of the Crane’s Mill resident chorus concert and tree lighting.
Last week, residents went out to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and stayed home (in Hinmnan Hall) for performances by Women’s Song Choral, Reeds, Rhythm & All That Brass, The Belle Tones, and Vocalist Karl Marmo.
This afternoon, residents will enjoy a holiday social, and tomorrow’s white elephant party and Karickter Duet performances should be a lot of fun.
Each year, a group of industrious residents sets up an extraordinary train room for the holidays. Our residents and staff love to visit and marvel at the miniature world our they create.
Complete with 3 working engines, the trains follow twists and turns around a mountainside (with skiers), a lumber mill, brewery, train stations (with eager passengers), residential neighborhoods, a hotel, a downtown, and so much more!
One could spend hours picking out new and exciting to-scale scenes. We were able to snap some photos…enjoy!
