Housekeeping at Crane’s Mill: Fully Included and Always Friendly

At Crane’s Mill Continuing Care Retirement Community in West Caldwell, New Jersey, housekeeping is fully included for every resident.

Housekeeping is included for all Crane’s Mill residents

Crane’s Mill is an all-inclusive style retirement community. What that means for our residents is that amenities like dining, transportation, and live entertainment are fully included—akin to an all-inclusive vacation, there’s no need to carry extra cash.

What may surprise you is that housekeeping is also fully included. Every other week, at a scheduled time, a member of our environmental services staff visits your apartment or cottage for a general housekeeping session, and typically some friendly conversation.

Also, once each year, there is an “annual cleaning” for every apartment, which involves extra staff members and includes moving furniture and cleaning exterior sliding doors, just to name a few items on the long checklist.

So, when you consider a move to a retirement community, make sure you know what’s included—and what is extra—so you can make an informed decision about your future.

If you’d like to learn more about Crane’s Mill and the services and amenities included at the community, please call us at 973-276-6700 or click here to reach our “contact us” page.

It’s not unusual to have an early-to-mid-March snow storm—the old adage does say, it comes in like a Lion. Still, a late winter storm can take us by surprise, so it’s important to be prepared.

Here are some safety tips from the American Red Cross that we found helpful, and wanted to share with you.

Let’s hope the snow isn’t as bad as they’re saying, and that March is ready to shift to its gentler Lamb form very soon!

Crane’s Mill welcomes pets in our independent living apartments and cottages.

When considering a move to a retirement community, people can be faced with a lot of decisions, like what kind of apartment or cottage should I choose, what contract type fits my budget, what personal belongings can I bring, and can I bring my pet?

Crane’s Mill has easy answers for two of those tough questions:

1. Consider a downsizing professional to help with your personal belongings. (In fact,we offer a move-in incentive to help new residents with their downsizing costs!)

2. If you have a pet, your furry friend is more than welcome in our community.

Many Crane’s Mill residents have cats, and there are even some dogs—we just ask that they are small dogs, and live on the first floor for easy access to our walking paths. In our cottages, which are freestanding from our main building, residents are welcome to have larger dogs.

Pets can be such wonderful companions. They can provide a warm, cuddly buddy while reading or watching TV, help to keep us on a regular routine, and even provide some exercise and activity when we take them on walks or have playtime.

Plus, according to multiple studies, there are measurable health benefits of pet ownership, including lower blood pressure and reduced stress, anxiety, and loneliness.

We do have some restrictions, so for full info on our pet policy, we ask that you please call us at 973-276-6700 or click here to contact us.
