East Hanover Resident Praises Crane’s Mill Rehab Department

We just received this testimonial from a Crane’s Mill sub-acute rehabilitation patient from East Hanover, New Jersey.

An excerpt of a Crane’s Mill resident testimonial.

“Crane’s Mill Thanked for Rehab Work”

As a resident of East Hanover, I wanted to thank the staff at the Crane’s Mill Health Center in West Caldwell for the care I received last month. I went to Crane’s Mill for additional rehab after I was discharged from Kessler in West Orange.

I want to say a special thanks to Rose and Folake of the nursing staff, Nino of the rehab department, Rebecca of the speech therapy department, Christina of the admissions department, Laurel, the social worker, and Pat of the dietary department. All of these individuals were very professional, courteous, and very caring. Thanks to their efforts, I was able to return home, and I am continuing to improve.

I would recommend Crane’s Mill to anyone. Thank you.

Gene P., East Hanover, NJ

Lutheran Social Ministries and Crane’s Mill Attend LeadingAge Conference

Key team members from Crane’s Mill Retirement Community and our parent organization Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey are in Nashville for the annual LeadingAge convention!

LeadingAge, a group consisting of 6,000 not-for-profit organizations whose mission is to expand the possibilities of aging, holds an annual conference to bring together and educate its members on the latest trends, opportunities, and challenges in services for older adults.

This year’s convention is titled Redefining Age, with a focus on the changing needs of the individual. As members of Leading Age, the team at LSMNJ and Crane’s Mill are excited to be a part of the conference to share ideas, learn new strategies, and continue to grow both personally and professionally.

The Wellness Center

Crane’s Mill residents enjoy the convenience and peace of mind of having the wellness center just a short, indoor walk from their apartment.

A Crane's Mill resident visits the Wellness Center

You may already know that our medical director, Dr. Pradip Shah, and wellness director, Cindy Lin, both have offices in our Wellness Center. But did you know that an array of other visiting doctors and services utilize the wellness office on a weekly basis?

We frequently have podiatrists, chiropractors, gastroenterologists, and making use of the office for our independent living and health center residents.

Plus, if a resident has a prescription for lab work, they can have their blood drawn right at the wellness office. Instead of waking up in the morning and driving to a lab after an evening of fasting, our residents can take the indoor walk to the wellness center, have their blood drawn, and stroll over to the Heartwood Cafe for breakfast. Now that’s convenient!
