Join us in taking a moment to say farewell to a friend and wish him well in his retirement
Have you ever met someone whose work ethic is impeccable? Someone who stays calm and collected when faced with seemingly daunting tasks? What about someone who is genuinely warm and friendly every time you see him?
We know that person, and his name is Francisco Reyes, our Director of Housekeeping at Crane’s Mill. At the end of this month, Francisco is retiring after 15 years at our community.
Equal parts hardworking, even-tempered and engaging, Francisco has been a staple in our community since we first opened our doors in 1998. Our residents and staff have grown quite accustomed to being greeted by Francisco’s trademark smile, and stopping for a friendly chat.
If you’ve ever been to Crane’s Mill, then you know this place is clean—and that’s no easy task. Every independent living resident (we have about 250) receives bi-weekly housekeeping and weekly linen service. Every Health Center resident receives full laundry service, and of course apartment cleaning. Not to mention every single inch of common space in our community—the dining venues, lounges, Hinman Hall…even our administrative offices. At the center of it all, directing every last pass of the broom is our friend Francisco.
Keeping Crane’s Mill spotless is only the beginning of Francisco’s importance to our community. When a resident moves in to their new apartment or cottage at Crane’s Mill, Francisco is one of the first people they meet upon their arrival. Francisco works with the resident to identify when the housekeeping team will return for their regularly-scheduled cleanings and ensures that every inch of their new home is just right.
Francisco’s good nature is an important piece in helping our new residents feel at home from their very first day, and it doesn’t stop there. He is a fixture on our campus, and he will truly be missed.
If a person’s wealth is measured by one’s good deeds, then Francisco is very rich man—and we are all fortunate for having known him.
On behalf of the staff and residents here at Crane’s Mill, we would like to wish Francisco all the best on this exciting new chapter in his life.
