The Gift Box: Refreshed and Open For Business

The Gift Box is the resident-run gift shop at Crane’s Mill. After a short hiatus, it’s back and better than ever.

The Gift Box—Open for Business

Have you ever discovered you’re low on shampoo, but don’t feel like taking a trip to the store? Have you ever realized your nephew’s birthday is fast approaching, and you need to mail a card today?

What if the convenience of a cozy little shop was a short, indoor walk from from your front door? That’s the reality for Crane’s Mill residents, as they enjoy the convenience of the Gift Box. Located in Towne Square, the Gift Box is run completely by resident volunteers, and offers an array of convenience items, gifts, greeting cards and more. Additionally, special merchandise and gifts change with the seasons.

As we posted earlier, the Gift Box is one of a few common spots receiving a facelift. The Gift Box received new carpet, paint, fixtures and more! The doors opened on Tuesday, March 26th, and the Crane’s Mill Courier was on-hand moments before the grand opening to snap pics of the newly renovated space. We’ve also included some “under construction” photos—enjoy! (Check back soon as we’ll give the same special treatment to our Library and Beauty Salon/Barber Shop)

A Look at the First Ever Crane’s Mill Easter Egg Hunt

Area kids of all ages hopped to Towne Square on Saturday in search of candy, cupcakes and photos with the Easter Bunny

The Crane's Mill Staff poses with a new friend

On Saturday, March 23rd, area children, their families and Crane’s Mill residents took to Towne Square to seek out dozens of hidden treasures at the community’s first ever Easter Egg Hunt!

The hidden eggs were stuffed with all sorts of sweet treats. Plus, 10 very lucky youngsters found chocolate coins redeemable for giant chocolate bunnies! Once the searching was done, there was a yummy display of cupcakes and other goodies for all to enjoy.

Residents and their grandchildren enjoyed posing for photos with the Easter Bunny while fun music filled the air! Here are some great pics from the event—we already can’t wait for next year!

Residents Head to NJPAC to Enjoy the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra

Crane’s Mill residents are on their way to take in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra…how are you spending your Thursday afternoon?

The Crane's Mill activities calendar is always full of fun. Today, residents are off to a classical concert.

Just another ho-hum Thursday afternoon in West Caldwell … or is it? A number of residents are boarding a luxury coach to nearby Newark to enjoy the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Not a bad way to escape this cold, grey second day of Spring!

Those residents staying put are hardly sitting still. At 1:00, there’s afternoon dancing in Hinman Hall.

Then, we’ll see the symphony-goers return to meet up with their two-stepping neighbors for happy hour in the Cherry Blossom Lounge, a Thursday afternoon tradition here at Crane’s Mill.

Finally, residents will indulge in a five-course dinner at the Candleberry Dining Room capped off by a personal favorite, Boston Cream Pie.

Ho-hum Thursday afternoon indeed! :)
